Floods have paralyzed life in the Hinchinbrook Shire coast, a community of 11,000 people about 500 km north of the capital of Queensland, Brisbane and some parts of Townsville after heavy rainfall hit northern Australia.
State Premier David Crisafulli warned that more rain is expected, which could lead to “record rainfall.”
Queensland police said a woman died when her boat capsized in the town of Ingham.
