The number of people killed due to the heavy rain and snowfall in Afghanistan’s Farah, Kandahar and Helmand provinces since Monday has risen to 36 and the number of people injured to 40.

Abdullah Jan Saiq, spokesman for the Afghanistan National Disaster Agency, reported that 240 houses were completely destroyed, 61 houses and hundreds of acres of agricultural land were damaged.

At least 21 people reportedly lost their lives in the flood that occurred in Farah province yesterday.
