A man in the northern Spanish city of Leioa was detained by police after he opened fire on the Del Pais Vasco University building with a shotgun. The Police Service of the Spanish Basque Country (Erzaintza) announced that there were no casualties or injuries in the attack, and that the university was evacuated.

Eyewitnesses said that the attacker came to the university campus with a shotgun, then fired at least three shots at the university building, breaking some windows.

The attacker was determined to be 21-year-old, and not a Del Pais Vasco University student, police said.
