Sivas city of Turkey gave full marks to Tanzanian’s dance to Sivas Halay

A person from Sivas city of Turkey named Yunus Ali Yağcı, who works in a private institution in Tanzania, made a group of Tanzanians dance the Sivas Halay accompanied with a Sivas folk song that he played while he visited the Tanzania as a staff. First of all, Yağcı taught Tanzanians how to dance the Sivas Halay. Later on, tens of Tanzanians that learned how to dance the Sivas Halay, hold hands and danced the Sivas Halay. The moments that recorded by mobile phone generated interesting footages.

Meanwhile, after danced the Sivas Halay for the first time in their life, Tanzanians got full marks from the head of Sivas Fasil Committee Minstrels, Poets and Folk Dances Association and a Folk Dance expert Ahmet Ayık. After watching the dance footages, “He danced the Mamaş Halay of the Sivas and the Oy Madımak was there. He danced that and there are other folk dances from our other cities of Turkey. His teaching of this Halay dances in a place like Tanzania is pretty interesting. I’m very pleased and happy as a person that inside of this culture 58 years long. So that means reputation of our Halay is sing and dance all over the world. They danced well. I wish they popularized it more. As far as I can see, they are both enthusiastic and willing, it’s very nice,” Ayık said.
