The Slovak opposition parties Progressive Slovakia (PS) and Freedom and Solidarity (SAS) organized a demonstration, alleging that the current government wants to politicize Slovak Radio and Television (RTVS).
According to a bill prepared by the Minister of Culture of Slovakia, RTVS will be replaced by another institution to be approved by the government and parliament.
“Fico is trying again today. Like all autocrats, he wants a propaganda mouthpiece of his own. He wants to control the media, intelligence, judiciary, and everything else. Of course, there is the Presidential Palace too. But Slovakia is not and will not be just about Fico,” said PS President Michal Simecka.
