4.3 million voters in Slovakia started voting at 07:00 local time to determine their new president. The voting will continue until 22:00, and if none of the candidates receives the majority of the votes, a second round will be held on April 6 between the two candidates with the most votes.
Among the 9 competing candidates, Parliament Speaker Peter Pellegrini and former Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok, supported by the opposition, stand out. Current President Zuzana Caputova did not run again.
