In the organized industrial zone of Niğde’s Bor district in Turkey, a fire broke out in a waste oil plant. The smoke rising from the burning building covered the sky. A large number of teams were dispatched to the scene for fire intervention. Officials from the plant said there was 40 tons of oil inside. No casualties or injuries reported, according to firefighters who responded to the fire. The teams are still responding to fire.

In Hatay, Türkiye, excavator operator Bülent Kuyucu paused work for 27 days to protect a dove’s nest on his machine. Kuyucu did not work to avoid disturbing the birds until the dove chicks safely flew away.
Kuyucu said he accepted the financial loss but was happy to see the doves leave unharmed.
