Severe winter weather killed five people in France and one in Bosnia and Herzegovina as snow and icy conditions disrupted large parts of Europe. French authorities reported fatal traffic accidents in the Landes and Paris regions, while dozens of areas were placed on orange alert and flights were cancelled at major airports, including Charles de Gaulle. Transport was also disrupted in the Netherlands, Germany, and the United Kingdom amid freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall. In Sarajevo, a woman died after a snow-laden tree collapsed, police said.
