The Mercimek Kale Mound, known as the “Muş Pyramid,” was blanketed in snow after heavy snowfall in Muş province in eastern Türkiye, creating striking winter views. Located along the Murat River, the mound’s pyramid-like shape stood out against the white landscape, drawing attention from nature and history enthusiasts.
Geomorphologist Dr. İskender Dölek said Mercimek Kale is a volcanic dome formation and one of Muş’s symbolic cultural landmarks, adding that it also holds strong tourism potential. Covered in snow, the historic site once again highlighted the region’s natural and cultural richness.
