It snowed for the first time in history in the city of Tlachichuca located at the Mexican state of Puebla. The city turned into snow white after the increase in the intensity of the snowfall, which started in the form of slush. The roads and roofs in the Tlachichuca were covered with snow and snow thickness reached up to 14 centimeters. Also, many city residents were shocked as they witnessed a snowfall for the first time in their lives. Puebla Governor Miguel Barbosa stated that they are working to reopen the roads that were closed due to snowfall, and added that support will be provided to citizens whose houses or crops in the fields were damaged by the precipitation.
Puebla State Minister of Interior Ana Lucia Hill Mayoral stated that civil protection teams went to the precipitation affected area and carried out damage assessment studies. Mayoral added that 15 people whose houses were damaged in the rain were placed in a shelter. The cold wave and low temperature conditions will continue in Puebla state, and warned citizens that this may cause snowfall to be seen again in various parts of the state, according to Mayoral.
