Heavy snowfall in Kastamonu’s Küre district has exceeded 2 meters, bringing daily life to a standstill. With roads blocked and vehicles buried, authorities have begun removing snow with trucks to clear the area.
Residents are struggling to clear roofs to prevent collapses, while meters-long icicles have formed on buildings. An indoor astroturf pitch caved in under the weight of the snow, though no injuries were reported.
Küre Mayor Salih Turan stated that snowfall reached 3.5 meters in villages, making Küre the most affected district. Cleanup efforts are ongoing as teams work to restore normalcy.
