A soothing scenery was formed by the nature itself in Hatay, which is among the most affected provinces by the earthquakes that occurred in the eastern region of Türkiye on February 6. After the completion of the debris removal works in the Antakya district, sunflowers and corns grew on some of the debris, giving the earthquake victims hope.
“There were usually residences and workplaces here. The streets were bright. After the earthquake, things like corn and sunflower spawned out of the rubble, and other plants started to bloom as well. Seeing such beautiful things makes one happy,” said İsmail Yaşar, a local.
