It was alleged that a social media phenomenon in Pakistan deliberately started a forest fire to increase her number of followers. Humaira Asghar, who has 11 million followers on the world-famous social media platform TikTok, shot a video of her walking in a silver dress in front of an ongoing forest fire. Asghar shared the video with his followers with the words “There is fire wherever I am”. Later on, the video caused an argument on social media and it was alleged that Asghar deliberately started the fire to shoot a video. Meanwhile, Asghar took the video down after the backlash. After the reactions, Asghar stated that she didn’t start the fire and that “there is no harm in taking a video”.

After the video that received a great reaction from social media users and environmentalists, many people demanded that Asghar be investigated and arrested. “She should have poured a bucket of water to put out the fire instead of beautifying it. The message these videos are sending is too risky and needs to be contained,” Islamabad Wildlife Board Chairman Rina Saeed Khan Satti said.
