South Asia Flood Death Toll Rises to 1,504

 

Floods and landslides caused by heavy rains across South Asia have killed 1,504 people. Indonesia reported 837 deaths, while Sri Lanka’s toll from Cyclone Ditwah climbed to 479, with roads, bridges, and communication lines severely damaged. Authorities say thousands are facing shortages of food and clean water, and 861 people remain missing in both countries.

Thailand has recorded 185 deaths and Malaysia three. The regional humanitarian situation continues to worsen.
