The 122-meter-long giant Starship rocket of SpaceX, owned by American businessman Elon Musk, exploded in the air minutes after it launched smoothly for its 8th test flight from the Starbase rocket development site in the state of Texas with 4 artificial Starlink satellites.
The rocket’s reusable first-stage booster, Super Heavy, returned to the launch pad as planned approximately 8 minutes after launch.
The US Federal Aviation Administration briefly suspended flights at Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and Orlando airports because of the rocket’s debris.
