The fire broke out in the rural area of Avila in Spain’s Castilla and Leon region was the biggest forest fire recorded in the country this year, with 12,000 hectares of woodland burned since Saturday. Around a thousand people were evacuated in 8 towns of the cities of Solosancho, Riofrio and Sotalbo. The fire was brought under control after two days of extinguishing efforts.
