A 60-year-old Spanish national was detained in an operation carried out on a Turkish private jet by the Brazilian police at Fortaleza Airport in the Brazilian state of Ceara. A total of 1,304 kilograms of cocaine was seized which were inside 24 suitcases and 50 packets per suitcase on the jet en route to Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
The owner of the jet, ACM Airlines, said in a statement that the jet was chartered by the Spanish passenger and that the responsibility for the control of passenger belongings is under the airport operator.

US President Donald Trump’s decision to raise tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from 25% to 50% has taken effect. Trump said the move aims to protect national security and counter low-priced foreign metals harming US industries.
The UK remains exempt, with its tariffs staying at 25%. The US is the world’s largest steel importer after the EU, sourcing mainly from Canada, Brazil, Mexico, and South Korea.
