Star Trek’s Captain Kirk William Shatner becomes oldest to go space

Star Trek’s Captain Kirk William Shatner has become the oldest person to go to space aboard Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin capsule. Blue Origin made its second touristic flight into space about 3 months later. The New Shepard rocket developed by the Blue Origin company was launched from the state of Texas in the USA and sent a crew of 4, including 90-year-old actor William Shatner. Shatner was accompanied on the flight by Blue Origin Vice President Audrey Powers, Planet Labs Co-Founder Chris Boshuizen and Medidata CEO Glen de Vries.

During the journey, which lasted about 11 minutes, the spacecraft ascended at an altitude of 106 kilometers from the earth, while the passengers experienced the zero-gravity environment for about 3 minutes. The capsule carrying Kirk and his crew and the New Shepard rocket successfully returned to Earth.

Black Boxes of Plane Crashed Recovered in US

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced that the black boxes in the passenger plane that crashed into the Potomac River after colliding with a military helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport have been found and the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder have been recovered.

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated in a preliminary report that the number of personnel at the airport’s air traffic control tower was abnormally insufficient.

According to reports in the US media, air traffic controllers asked the plane’s pilots if they could land on runway 33 before the planned landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. According to flight tracking sites, the pilots adjusted their course to land on the runway. Less than 30 seconds before the collision, the air traffic controller asked the crew of the military helicopter if they could see the approaching passenger plane.
