A severe storm caused severe destruction in the Crimea region of Ukraine and Russia. Three people lost their lives in the Crimea region, where a state of emergency was declared. In Russia, approximately 2 million people were left without electricity. The storm was recorded as the strongest one in the last 16 years.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum called the attack “very sad” and stated that an investigation is underway. The religious holiday is observed annually on June 24 by various Christian denominations.
