Severe storms and tornadoes have devastated central and southern US states since Friday, killing at least 42 people and injuring dozens. The storms triggered tornadoes, wildfires, and dust storms, causing widespread destruction.

Missouri recorded the highest toll with 13 deaths, including a man killed while sleeping. Mississippi saw six fatalities, leaving over 200 people homeless. Tornadoes in Alabama, Arkansas, and North Carolina claimed multiple lives, including two children. Wildfires in Oklahoma destroyed over 400 homes, causing four deaths. High winds in Kansas and Texas led to deadly dust storms, including an eight-person pileup crash. Authorities warn of ongoing fire risks in the region.
