Heavy rains, which have been effective in Taiwan for two days, caused flooding. Many settlements were flooded in 15 cities and counties across Taiwan. While many vehicles remained on the road, a woman caught in the flood waters escaped at the last moment.
Tongxiao town in Miaoli County in western Taiwan received the most precipitation, with 215.5 millimeters. In the morning, a heavy rain warning was issued for Taichung and Changhua.
