The negotiations mediated by the United States and Saudi Arabia to end the clashes between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan have been stalled. The Sudanese army announced that they suspended the talks on the grounds that the RSF did not comply with the terms of the short-term ceasefire, which stipulates the withdrawal of RSF forces from hospitals and buildings, and violated the ceasefire many times.
According to data published by non-governmental organizations, more than 1,800 people have lost their lives in the conflicts that have been going on in Sudan since April 15. According to the United Nations (UN), more than a million people have been internally displaced, and at least 350,000 have fled to neighboring countries.
