Severe flooding caused by heavy rains has devastated Abu Hamad city in northern Sudan. Since Monday, the rains have destroyed dozens of houses, resulting in 11 deaths and at least 60 injuries. The Sudanese Ministry of Health also reported that heavy rains and floods in June and July across seven states have led to 32 deaths and 107 injuries. Floods are a recurring issue in Sudan, typically occurring between June and October, causing significant loss of life, damage to agricultural lands, and destruction of homes.
