MV Noongah, the 71-meter-long iron-loaded cargo ship that sank with its 26 crew members during a storm in Australia on August 25, 1969, was found yesterday. After detecting its exact location under the water, authorities managed to record the largely intact ship, which stands vertically at a depth of 170 meters.

The location of the ship was roughly detected last year, but the ship could not be reached due to technological inadequacy.

Only 5 of the 26 crew members survived the incident, which was recorded as one of the biggest maritime accidents in the country’s history.
