A flash flood swept a group of young people swimming in Rustaq, Sulatane of Oman’s Wadi al Hoqain. The flood swept away one of the young men after he lost his balance, according to a video shared by activists, before the rest of the youth rushed to save him. There were no reported injuries or fatalities.
According to local media, heavy rains caused flooding in the wilayats of Shina Saham and Rustaq in Oman’s northwestern Sulatane.
Egyptian media reports that ceasefire talks between Hamas and Israel in Gaza, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, are set to resume next week. Israel is awaiting Hamas’s response to the ceasefire offer.
Israeli and US delegations, who were in Doha for negotiations, have returned home for consultations. The current agreement being discussed includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, with plans for further talks on a permanent ceasefire and the release of additional hostages.
