Syrian National Army (SNA) forces have taken control of the Tishrin Dam, a vital power source on the Euphrates River near Manbij, previously held by the PKK/YPG since 2015.
The dam, which supplies most of Syria’s electricity, was liberated on December 13. Following the evacuation of nearby villagers, the area fell silent as SNA forces secured checkpoints and conducted thorough searches of terrorist shelters.
To prevent attacks from across the Euphrates, the SNA established new security posts and continues patrolling the region to ensure safety.
