The people of Latakia, Syria, celebrated the collapse of the 15-year Assad captivity under security measures of opposition soldiers yesterday. A giant 3-star new Syrian flag was hung in the city square. The new Syrian flag was painted on the faces of children participating in the celebrations.
“Everyone gathered here. They are happy. Everyone feels safe. There was no such thing in the past. We are here for the security of the people,” said an opposition soldier.
“Praise be to Allah. Today, a victory is being won. Today is Friday, praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds,” said Syrian Isa Khaled.
