Qabun, once home to 70,000 people in northern Damascus, now lies in rubble after heavy bombings during Syria’s civil war. The neighborhood, targeted for alleged opposition tunnels, has been reduced to desolation, with only shepherds and farmers now entering the area.
Local resident Abu Menze Ahras stated, “They destroyed this place with airstrikes, forcing people to migrate. Under the regime, access was restricted, and bribes were needed to use the land for farming.” Qabun stands as a stark reminder of the devastation wrought by the 13-year conflict.
