With the arrival of the Muslims’s holy month Ramadan, thousands of Muslims living in New York, US, came together in Times Square. The crowd gathered in the square to celebrate the arrival of the Ramadan and made their sahur in Times Square. Later on, Muslims broke their fast and performed the tarawih prayers at the square. “You work with these people. You take the train with these people. We are all really one” Ali Camara who organized the sahur and iftar program said in his statement.
While the video images taken at the event held in Times Square received thousands of likes after the rapid spread on social media, it was also stated that the permission was obtained from the authorities for prayer in the square.
