Thailand’s King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida piloted their own Boeing 737-800 during their first overseas visit to Bhutan, held from April 25–28.
The Thai royal couple landed at Bhutan’s Paro Airport—one of the world’s most challenging runways—and were welcomed by King Jigme Khesar and Queen Jetsun Pema.
Hosted in Thimphu, the Thai royals attended a Buddhist ceremony at the historic Changangkha Lhakhang temple before returning to Thailand, again flying the royal aircraft themselves.
