In Germany’s capital Berlin, climate activists called ‘The Last Generation’ held a sit-in protest on 17 Juni Street in front of the Victory Monument in order to warn politicians and the public about global warming and its effects on the climate. Approximately a thousand activists participating in the protest closed 17 Juni Street to traffic and reiterated their demands to stop using fossil fuels and switch to environmentally friendly energy as soon as possible.
Protesters carried banners with slogans such as “Move away from fossil fuels”, “Wake up and stand up”, “The last generation before the tipping point”.
