Following the temporary halt of flights due to heavy snow in Istanbul, the third runway at Istanbul Airport was activated, which began with a runway at 12:00 the previous day and increased with the opening of the second runway yesterday. All three runways at Istanbul Airport have now been commissioned as of noon. “In addition to runways 18/36 and 16R/34L, runway 17L/35R at Istanbul Airport has been put into service, and traffic numbers have been reached before bad weather conditions,” Civil Aviation officials announced.

The number of flights at the airport has increased proportionally since the runways were opened. In this regard, 755 take-offs and landings are scheduled for today at Istanbul Airport.
