Thousands of people recently gathered in Mangshi, a city located in southwest China’s Yunnan province, to celebrate the traditional water splashing festival. The festival is an occasion for joyous celebration, with people dressed in festive attire throwing water at each other to spread happiness. Attendees also sprinkled passers-by with auspicious water to convey sincere blessings.
The water splashing festival is a significant event for local ethnic minorities, such as the Dai and Deang, who celebrate it as part of their Solar New Year festivities.
