The forest fire that started yesterday in the mountainous region of Boulder in the state of Colorado, USA, and grew quickly due to the wind’s effect, poses a threat to the settlements surrounding the University of Colorado Boulder. According to a statement released by the Boulder Emergency Office, the forest fire forced the evacuation of at least 19,000 people from 8,000 homes. Two shelters were built for the evacuees. No casualty reported in the fire.
Firefighting planes also assist firefighters in their efforts to extinguish the flames. According to a Boulder city fire official, 21% of the fire, which has burned 80 acres of land so far, has been brought under control. In the coming hours, the wind is expected to slow down and the humid air will aid in the extinguishing efforts.
