Three women died, dozens injured in a stampede at the entrance of the Khatu Shyam Temple in Rajasthan, India. Hindus formed long queues at Khatu Shyam Temple from yesterday evening until morning due to ‘Gyaras’, which is an auspicious day in the Hindu calendar. The injured were taken to the hospital, police said.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sadness for those who lost their lives in the stampede and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
Student-led protesters in Serbia have blockaded state broadcasters RTS and RTV, demanding management overhaul or complete shutdown due to alleged biased reporting. Tents were set up outside buildings in Belgrade and Novi Sad, blocking entry and disrupting broadcasts. RTS called the blockade illegal, while RTV’s head labeled it “terrorism.”
The protests follow a deadly building collapse in Novi Sad that killed 15 people in November 2024. Despite government reshuffles and resignations, demonstrations persist. President Aleksandar Vucic dismissed the unrest as a failed “color revolution.”
