The number of people who lost their lives due to tornadoes in the US states of Alabama and Georgia has increased to 9.
The Autauga Emergency Management Agency in Alabama reported that with 1 more person dying in accidents caused by the tornado the death toll in the province increased to 7. Officials stated at least 40 houses were demolished or uninhabitable, and there are only one or two homes left in some areas.
In the state of Georgia, a cleaning worker lost his life and the death toll increased to 2. Governor Brian Kemp said great damage occurred throughout the state and it affected all regions of the state.
