While its cold and snowy in the high regions of the country, the temperature in the Alanya district of Turkey’s Antalya was measured as 22 degrees. Seizing the opportunity of the sunny weather, locals and foreigners flocked to the beaches.
Coming from Konya, where continental climate is dominant, Mehmet Yücel said, “Winter does not come to Alanya. We come swimming with boys on the 18th of December. We would turn on combi boilers in Konya whereas we burn in the heat here. I look at the weather report and come here on the days when I see it’s sunny. The weather and the sea are beautiful.”
