tourists rush Turkey’s most popular train travel Eastern Express

The Eastern Express is one of Turkey’s longest train travels, running from Ankara to Kars and operated by the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD). Passengers arriving in Kars on the Eastern Express return to Ankara after exploring the city’s historical and tourist attractions.

Emre Ergün, who is from Kayseri, stated, “We’ve been in Kars for about 2-3 days. We had always wanted to travel on the Eastern Express, and this was our chance. I only wish we could have done it earlier. We strongly recommend it to everyone.” Fatoş Özçekener, who will be traveling with the Eastern Express for the first time, said, “I am excited, I want it to get up as soon as possible. I hope everything goes well. I did my own research and liked it ”

The Touristic Eastern Express, which had been disrupted for a long time due to the pandemic, was added to the Eastern Express, which drew the attention of both domestic and international travelers through social media posts. Today, the Touristic East Express will depart from Ankara. Kars, Erzurum, Erzincan, Sivas, Kayseri, Krkkale, and Ankara make up the Eastern Express route, which is especially popular with young people. While there is a brief break at intermediate stations, it can take up to 10-15 minutes at main stations. The journey, which begins in Ankara and ends in Kars, takes about 24 hours.

Depressed Young Man in Türkiye Takes First Bath in Three Years

In Hatay, Türkiye, 23-year-old Barış Özbay, who had isolated himself at home for nearly three years following the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, was shaved and bathed for the first time after being helped by social services.

After losing his home and relatives in the 2023 earthquakes, Barış withdrew from life, dropped out of university, and became addicted to online games. Acting on Governor Mustafa Masatlı’s instructions, Family and Social Services teams convinced him to take the first step toward recovery. “I resisted a little, but they took me away. I shaved, bathed—it was nice,” Barış said, though he admitted he still struggles with motivation.

Provincial Director of Family and Social Services Süleyman Yıldırım said their support for Barış will continue, adding that medical teams and municipal workers will provide health checks and clean his home.
