In Trabzon, Türkiye, a cemetery in the Pınarlı neighborhood of the Çarşıbaşı district has introduced a unique feature: tribune seats, commonly seen in sports stadiums. These seats, primarily in burgundy and blue colors, were placed on the elevated part of the cemetery to provide comfortable seating for visitors during prayer readings and funeral ceremonies.
This innovation has attracted attention on social media, with many comparing the setup to a sports ‘tribune.’ However, the neighborhood headman clarified that their goal was simply to offer a comfortable experience for visitors, especially during funeral ceremonies and holiday visits. While some seats were obtained online, there is a request for more seats, with the local Trabzonspor Club being asked for assistance to complete the seating arrangement.
The term ‘tribune’ is being used loosely on social media, but the focus remains on enhancing comfort for cemetery visitors.
