Five people were killed, including a child, in Tropical cyclone Shaheen, which caused flooding in the capital city Muscat and various regions in the gulf country Oman. Many houses were flooded, and more than 2,700 residents were evacuated to shelters.
The cyclone Shaheen will strengthen this afternoon, Oman meteorologists announced.
