A truck explosion in Tel Aviv, Israel, resulted in the death of one person. The incident occurred on Lod Street, with police confirming that the blast was caused by an explosive device inside the vehicle. Authorities have yet to determine whether the explosion was a terrorist attack. Notably, Israel’s domestic intelligence service, Shin Bet, is not currently involved in the investigation. Andriy Portnov, former aide to ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, was shot dead in Madrid’s upscale Pozuelo de Alarcon district. Spanish authorities say unidentified gunmen opened fire as the 52-year-old was dropping off his children at school, striking him in the back and head before fleeing.
Portnov, a former MP and lawyer, fled Ukraine with Yanukovych in 2014, briefly returned in 2019, and was later sanctioned by the U.S. for alleged judicial corruption.
