US President Donald Trump said he spoke by phone with Colombian President Gustavo Petro and praised the tone of the conversation. Trump said Petro called to explain Colombia’s position on drug-related issues and other disagreements with the United States. He added that preparations have begun for a White House meeting, led by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his Colombian counterpart. No date was announced for the meeting in Washington.
