US President Donald Trump signed an executive order requiring federal agencies to consult with the Department of Government Efficiency, led by Elon Musk, to oversee layoffs and hiring limits. The move aims to cut government spending.

At the signing ceremony, Musk said the reforms reflect the public’s demand for change. Trump defended the decision, criticizing judicial opposition to his cost-cutting measures.

The White House confirmed that the order will significantly reduce the federal workforce, allowing agencies to hire only one new employee for every four who leave, with exceptions for immigration, law enforcement, and public safety roles.
