Donald Trump said he has reached a framework for a future agreement on Greenland and the Arctic with Mark Rutte following talks on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos. “Based on a very constructive meeting… we have laid the groundwork for a future agreement regarding Greenland and indeed the entire Arctic region,” Trump said, adding that planned US tariffs due on February 1 would not be implemented. Rutte assured Trump that European NATO allies would come to the US’s aid if attacked, stressing shared security commitments. Trump said Greenland’s “real price is security,” calling it vital for both the US and Europe.
