The gardens turned white with the blossoming of the world-famous, registered Akşehir Cherry trees in the Akşehir district of Konya, Turkey. The cherry orchards in white, as if dressed in a wedding dress, display an insatiable sight.
A large part of Akşehir Cherry, which is in demand all over the world, especially on the table of the British Royal family, is exported abroad. With the effect of microclimate in the Akşehir Lake basin, the most pleasant aroma in the world, crispy, juicy, durable and delicious “Akşehir Cherry” is produced. Akşehir Cherry was registered in 2004 as “Akşehir Cherry”. Cherry, which covers an area of more than 15,000 decares and contributes to the city’s economy with an annual average of 30,000 tons of cherry production from over 300,000 cherry trees, stands out as an important agricultural product of Akşehir.
Akşehirli cherry grower İsmet Ordu, stating that this year was a fruitful winter and that spring came late, said, “After a beautiful winter, all our cherry orchards started to bloom. Our cherry orchards are now all white, wearing her wedding dress. Our Beyza, our city, Akşehir, with the white wedding dress for which it got its name, created postcard images that are worth seeing and photographing.”
