A reception was held at the Turkish Embassy in Jakarta on Tuesday to mark Turkish Cuisine Week, introducing classic dishes of Türkiye to guests from the diplomatic, business, and arts communities.
The event featured a traditional menu prepared by Ottoman cuisine chef Recep İncecik, including lentil soup, tray pastry, imam bayıldı, kısır, tarator, shepherd’s salad, dry beans, hünkarbeğendi, hakani halva, and baklava.
Turkish Ambassador to Jakarta Talip Küçükcan stated, “This year’s theme focuses on traditional Turkish food culture, which is often overlooked due to modernization and fast food trends. Türkiye wants to highlight its rich culinary heritage.”
Turkish Cuisine Week is celebrated annually from May 21 to 27 under the patronage of First Lady Emine Erdoğan, both in Türkiye and abroad.
