Tanju Acar, head of the Düzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly, tracked down his first car “Maviş,” (blue eyed) which he sold 41 years ago, in a scrap yard in Konya. After seven months of meticulous restoration, he gifted it to his 5-year-old grandson.
Acar said the car carries deep sentimental value and promised to recreate a photo taken with his schoolmate Talat, now battling cancer, in the same spot 41 years later. Restorer Ruhi Ozan described the project as “a labor of love,” turning the once-wrecked vehicle back into its original form.
