The Turkish Embassy in Skopje hosted a special event as part of “Turkish Cuisine Week” to showcase the unique flavors of Türkiye. Organized by Şeyma Nur Ulusoy, wife of Türkiye’s Ambassador to Skopje Fatih Ulusoy, the event featured a buffet dinner titled “Meeting of History, Culture and Nature: Turkaegean Flavors.”
Before the dinner, guests enjoyed a demonstration of making stuffed grape leaves with olive oil, a popular dish from the Aegean region, followed by a friendly competition.
In her speech, Şeyma Nur Ulusoy expressed delight in celebrating Turkish Cuisine Week in North Macedonia, a region rich in Turkish cultural heritage. She highlighted the diverse influences on Turkish cuisine from the Middle East, Balkans, Mediterranean, Aegean, Caucasus, and Central Asia. She also noted the publication of the Turkish Cuisine book, led by Emine Erdoğan, featuring centuries-old recipes. Ulusoy emphasized that Turkish Cuisine Week has become a cherished tradition in Türkiye and internationally.
