Turkish footballer dies in road accident

Turkish footballer Ahmet Çalık, who played for Konyaspor, died in a traffic accident in Ankara’s Gölbaş district. The accident occurred in the morning on the Ankara-Niğde highway. The football player’s vehicle, which lost control, flew into the stockade, drifted for meters, and somersaulted. The medical teams who came to the scene determined that Ahmet Çalık died at the scene. Çalık’s body was taken to the hospital mortuary. According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle was very fast and the football player, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out of the vehicle. An investigation into the incident has begun.
