Yunus Çalık, a 36-year-old father of two children, was seriously injured as a result of a fight with 6 Romanian nationals, whom he came across on the street on Friday evening, 19 November, when he left the workplace and was on his way home. Çalık, who received many blows to the head, died in the intensive care unit in a hospital in Brussels. Three of the six suspects were detained in the investigation conducted in Belgium following the incident were released, and that the correct information was not given to his family, his uncle Ercan Çalık said. “We want Turkey to investigate this incident and the court to be carried out a little faster. We demand that the camera footage be given to his family as well. The real suspect has escaped to Romania.” he said. Adding that although the incident took place in Belgium, and that the incident has not been covered in the European press, his uncle asks for justice.
